Policies and warranty terms

How we quote, schedule, charge, warranty and cancel. In plain English, before you need it.

Estimates and deposits

Inspections and written estimates are free. Estimates are valid for 30 days; after that material prices may have moved and we will re-quote.

Roofing work is scheduled on receipt of the deposit shown on your estimate, with the balance due on completion. Construction projects are paid on milestones set out in the proposal. We do not ask for the full amount up front, and you should be wary of anyone who does.

Change orders

If we find something the estimate did not cover — rotten decking, a rusted-through valley, a framing problem — work stops and you get a written change order with the price before we continue. Nothing gets added to your bill that you did not sign.

Decking is the common one. Your estimate carries a per-sheet allowance so you know the rate in advance; you are only charged for sheets actually replaced, and we photograph every one.

Scheduling and weather

We do not tear off more roof than we can dry-in the same day. If weather turns mid-job, the open deck is covered before we leave.

Rain moves schedules. When your date shifts we tell you as early as we know, and you go to the front of the next available slot rather than the back of the queue.

Workmanship warranty

We warrant our installation workmanship for 5 years (sample) from the date of completion. If the roof leaks because of how we installed it, we repair it at no cost to you.

What it does not cover

  • Damage from storms, hail, wind or falling trees (that is an insurance claim)
  • Damage caused by anyone else working on the roof after us
  • Damage from foot traffic, satellite dish or antenna installs
  • Failure caused by structural movement or pre-existing conditions we identified in writing
  • Gutters, siding or components not installed by us
  • Neglect, including blocked gutters and unaddressed overhanging limbs

Manufacturer warranties on materials are separate, are registered in your name after the final walkthrough, and are explained on the credentials page.

Insurance claim work

On claim work you pay your deductible and your carrier pays the balance according to your policy. We will document the damage, meet your adjuster and submit supplements for items the field scope misses.

We cannot pay, waive, rebate or absorb your deductible, and neither can any other contractor. Anyone offering to is describing insurance fraud.

If your claim is denied, you may cancel a contract tied to that claim within the window Tennessee law allows after you are notified of the denial. That right is stated in the agreement itself.

DRAFT NOTICE (demo build). The statutory citation and exact notice wording on this page and in our agreements are pending review by counsel. Do not rely on this page as legal advice.

Cancellation

You may cancel a signed agreement within three business days of signing, in writing, for a full refund of any deposit. After materials have been ordered or work has begun, we will refund what has not been committed and invoice only for work actually completed.

What we will not do

  • Roof over an existing roof
  • Start work without a signed, written estimate or agreement
  • Absorb, rebate or discount your insurance deductible
  • Ask you to sign over your insurance benefits to us
  • Quote a price over the phone without seeing the roof
  • Take a job outside our service area that we cannot warranty properly
